Where do we go?

Galatians 6:9
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

Visiting with so many concerned citizens, I am often asked: "What if all we do makes no difference in 2012? Where will we live if the United States falls to the crushing oppression of socialism? Where do we go?" This is a heartbreaking anxiety I hear from my fellow Texans. Of course, it is no wonder they feel this way when our politicians and talking heads spread a message of doom and fear. They make their living, not a free nation, on our uncertainty. When I ponder these fears in my heart, this is where history and a love of my country tells me to go.

First, we go to the throne room of God and plead His mercy and grace on our country. We take our fears to the original Founding Father and ask Him what we must do to return our nation to one based on liberty.

We then go back to the basics: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We memorize them and make them the mission statement of our daily lives.

We go to the homes of our family, friends and neighbors and lay out the map for an all out return to freedom. We encourage them to live with freedom as a total mental state that informs their every decision.

We go to the ballot box and elect candidates who run for office because they believe in advancing freedom instead of electing those that run because they are afraid of losing freedom. In a day where we have surrendered our freedoms because of a climate of fear, why do we let them take us back to the well of fear for our choice in elected officials? There is a better way to measure our candidates than who makes us most terrified of what may come. After going in these directions, we keep our nation in prayer and our government accountable. We do not leave. We do not quit when it does not go as fast as we would like. Instead we revive the courage of America's pioneers as we push through this new terrain. America is unique because millions of people had the courage to overcome the unknown in their pursuit of freedom. They built a nation unified on freedom out of a people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs. It is their heritage and blood that flows through our hearts as they beat for our nation. It is their history that is our map for the direction we take through this darkness of fear and doubt. When it is all over, how will we look them in the eyes and say we ran away from a challenge they ran toward? How will we tell the Greatest Generation that their fight to take freedom to the oppressed was not as hard as bringing it back to our own nation? We cannot and we will not let the tyrants of terror be victorious in scaring away those who can make life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness our nation's banners again; who can do what it takes to be a free people again.

So, where do we go if we lose our freedoms in this nation? We go to work.

Fight for Freedom on the Border

It comes as no surprise today that the Obama administration is abusing Executive Orders to limit our ability to obtain firearms. Pretending criminals play by the same rules, President Obama is increasing penalties for gun law violations and making the purchase of firearms more difficult for law-abiding citizens while creating a nationwide database to track those who purchase firearms.

Tea Party Candidates?

The Tea Party leadership across Texas has provided a wonderful service to voters by hosting a series of candidate forums in 5 cities. The forums have been a resounding success for voters and for candidates. I am excited to report that the straw polls after each forum have put me ahead of candidates who have raised and spent 10 to 100 times the amount of money I have. This only proves that voters are looking at message, not money!
